In this article Year for Priests: What we learn from video games « CNS Blog Father Chris Valka makes an excellent point that I, as a father (parental type) had not thought of. Like Father Valka, I am often sceptical of claims that video games or certain movies make children behave in certain ways. While I fully agree that the circumstances that surround the playing of video games and watching certain types of movies do contribute to behavior. In these cases I see it more as the lack of interaction with family and others that is fostered by allowing children too much time in either genre and therefore leads to a certain level of disconnection, lack of social interaction skills, etc...

Obama's trade rep pick owes almost $10,000 in taxes
News today that yet another of President Barack Obama’s nominees doesn’t quite seem to know how taxes work. Former Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk failed to pay approximately $10,000 in taxes. Oh by the way, he’s nominated to be our United States trade representative. Hopefully the post includes a week long orientation on basic mathematics, business practices and the income tax law and structure of our country so that he can better represent it abroad.
So while the democratically controlled House, Senate & White house ram through a $787 Billion dollar stimulus plan they are apparently not the party planning on paying for it.
The annual salary of each senator, as of 2008, is $174,00 (Senate Salaries), surprisingly below the $250,000 starting point that now apparently defines the rich in America. It should not surprising to learn, even for our congressional compatriots, that the majority of households in the $250,000 range are sole proprietorships, small businesses and the like. In other words, the vast majority of job producing, income tax generating businesses in this nation.

Canadian Terrorists bring down flight 1549 in the Hudson

Breaking news - Canadian sponsored terrorists infiltrated the US by air and then cleverly disguised themselves as geese in order to accomplish their nefarious mission. The Canadian nationals, donned their goose outfits and carried out suicide attacks on the engines of flight 1549. Fortunately, captain Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger III was able to ditch the aircraft in Hudson and save all 155 souls aboard.
It is unknown at this time if the US is planning any retaliation against Canada or the wild goose population for aiding and abetting this attack.

Yet again, we find ourselves debating whether eating, in this case being fed, is a means of being kept alive artificially. By the specious arguments of those supporting the euthanasia of people who cannot feed themselves we must now expand our list of those we can put to death. Not only are the unborn and those in a vegetative state now at risk, but newborns, elderly, or any other human being who, for whatever reason, is unable to feed themselves and so, according to the so called "right to die" movement, should be left alone to starve out their days in peace.

The scribes who had come from Jerusalem said of Jesus, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and“By the prince of demons he drives out demons.”Summoning them, he began to speak to them in parables, “How can Satan drive out Satan?If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand; that is the end of him.But no one can enter a strong man’s house to plunder his property unless he first ties up the strong man.Then he can plunder his house. Amen, I say to you, all sins and all blasphemies that people utter will be forgiven them.But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never have forgiveness, but is guilty of an everlasting sin.”For they had said, “He has an unclean spirit.”
How appropriate that in this month, the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, that we read today how a house divided against itself cannot stand. I would add further that a house that is killing itself cannot long survive.

“the first in an anticipated series of attacks on longstanding pro-life policies as the new administration pushes Obama’s sweeping abortion agenda.”
I am sure we will see many more executive orders, directives and pushes for liberal democratic legislation to promote the culture of death so emabraced by the left. Once all the unborn are done away with and we sterilize our society with same-sex unions, the population "problem" will be over - there won't be a population left to worry about it.
